Basketball Recap: Bonanza Takes a Loss

Bonanza was the 59-46 winner over Sunrise Mountain when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Bonanza Bengals took a 77-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sunrise Mountain Miners on Monday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (59), the Bengals still had to take the loss.

Bonanza's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Sunrise Mountain, with the victory, they broke their 11-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-19.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bonanza will welcome Basic at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Basic knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Bonanza likes a good challenge. As for Sunrise Mountain, they will take on Faith Lutheran at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Faith Lutheran's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
