Basketball Recap: Mullins Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Moriah Mcleod and Breanna Ford

Mullins was the 51-43 winner over Atlantic Collegiate Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mullins Auctioneers fell just short of the Atlantic Collegiate Academy Armada by a score of 45-43 on Thursday.

Despite the defeat, Mullins had strong showings from Breanna Ford, who went 9-for-13 on her way to 19 points, and Moriah McLeod, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds. Ford continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Atlantic Collegiate Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zaniya Blackmon led the charge by putting up 13 points and three steals. Blackmon is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Micah Davis was another key player, posting ten points.

Mullins' loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-8. As for Atlantic Collegiate Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-12 record this season.

Mullins does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Atlantic Collegiate Academy, they will square off against Timberland at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
