Preview: North Salinas Vikings vs. Soledad Aztecs
North Salinas and Soledad are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The North Salinas Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Soledad Aztecs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
North Salinas pushed their score all the way to 55 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rancho San Juan. North Salinas has not had much luck with Rancho San Juan recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, Soledad suffered a rough 63-38 defeat at the hands of Monte Vista Christian on Thursday.
North Salinas has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Soledad, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-14.
North Salinas came up short against Soledad when the teams last played back in January, falling 62-49. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Soledad's Pablo Morales iv, who went 9 for 15 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points and 0 assists.
