Volleyball Game Preview: Avenal Buccaneers vs. Farmersville Aztecs

The Avenal Buccaneers will head out on the road to face off against the Farmersville Aztecs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Farmersville took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Avenal, who comes in off a win.

Avenal is headed out to face Farmersville after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Buccaneers put the hurt on Corcoran with a sharp 3-0 victory on Monday.

While Avenal won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-14, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Farmersville came up short against Lindsay on Tuesday and fell 3-1.

Farmersville actually scored more points across those four sets (91-86), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-22, 11-25, 25-23, 25-21.

Avenal took their win against Farmersville when the teams last played back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buccaneers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
