Volleyball Recap: Northridge Raiders vs. Westview Warriors
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Warsaw, Northridge was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Westview Warriors with a sharp 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Raiders also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-20, 25-11.
Leading Northridge to victory were Molly Nickell and Izzy Melvin. Nickell had 27 digs, while Melvin had eight digs and two aces. That's the most aces Melvin has posted since back in August.
Despite the loss, Westview still got an impressive performance from Briana Kaufman, who had 17 digs.
Northridge's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-4. As for Westview, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
Northridge will welcome Mishawaka at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mishawaka will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Northridge surely won't give up without a fight. As for Westview, they will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Concord at 8:30 a.m.
