The Freeport Yellowjackets will head out on the road to face off against the Redbank Valley Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Freeport has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Redbank Valley will arrive with four straight wins.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 79-52, which was the final score in Freeport's tilt against Plum on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Redbank Valley humbled Punxsutawney with a 65-37 victory. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Redbank Valley has managed all season.
Redbank Valley's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ty Carrier, who scored 18 points. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. Mason Clouse was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Freeport bumped their record down to 2-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Redbank Valley, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.
Everything went Freeport's way against Redbank Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as Freeport made off with a 71-49 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Freeport since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
