Basketball Game Preview: Fort Jennings Musketeers vs. New Knoxville Rangers

Having just played yesterday, the Fort Jennings Musketeers will head out on the road to face off against the New Knoxville Rangers at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Fort Jennings has four straight victories, New Knoxville has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Fort Jennings will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Ottoville, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Fort Jennings snuck past Ottoville with a 43-39 win on Friday.

Meanwhile, New Knoxville played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 61-35 to Versailles. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 627th, while the Tigers are ranked 90th).

Fort Jennings pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for New Knoxville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

Fort Jennings strolled past New Knoxville in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 52-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fort Jennings since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
