Artesia is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Saturday. They will head out to square off against the Goddard Rockets at 12:00 p.m. Artesia is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.7 goals per game this season.

Artesia proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by four) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Roswell 1-0. Artesia's winning goal came courtesy of Abigail Jowers.

Meanwhile, after soaring to eight goals the game before, Goddard was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They fell just short of Santa Teresa by a score of 2-1.

Goddard's loss dropped their record down to 5-7-2. As for Artesia, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Artesia beat Goddard 2-0 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rockets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
