Volleyball Recap: Bishop Hartley Hawks vs. Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs
After flying high against Westerville Central on Saturday, Bishop Hartley came back down to earth. The Hawks fell just short of the Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Hawks haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Bishop Hartley took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-19, 21-25, 25-18, 16-14.
Defeat or not, Bishop Hartley got some senior leadership from Kate Motter and Karah O'Malley. Motter had 11 digs and three aces, while O'Malley had 12 digs and three aces. Those three aces set a new season-high mark for Motter.
Sienna Hogue went supernova For Bloom-Carroll., getting 25 digs and two assists. Hogue is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last seven games she's played dating back to last season.
Bishop Hartley's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Bloom-Carroll, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
Bishop Hartley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Hayes on the 29th. As for Bloom-Carroll, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Circleville on the 28th.
