Football Game Preview: Middle Creek Mustangs vs. Northern Nash Knights

The Middle Creek Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Northern Nash Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Middle Creek comes in on four and Northern Nash on nine.

Middle Creek is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 31-30 photo finish over Southern Alamance.

Lex Sevilla had a dynamite game, throwing for 342 yards and three TDs. Those 342 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Tracy Harrington Jr also helped out with an impressive 95 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Northern Nash's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They managed a 19-14 win over Seventy-First. Those 19 points were actually the fewest the Knights have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Northern Nash's win came from a few key players Middle Creek will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Preston McDaniel, who rushed for 127 yards and one score.

Middle Creek's record now sits at 9-2. As for Northern Nash, their record is now 11-1.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Middle Creek has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 184.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Northern Nash struggles in that department as they've been averaging 225.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
