After losing to Vestal the last time they met, Corning-Painted Post decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Hawks were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Golden Bears on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won nine matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Corning-Painted Post pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Vestal, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3.

Corning-Painted Post didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Elmira on the 14th. Vestal has also already played their next contest (against Corning-Painted Post West), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
