It was a good run, but  Maranatha Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their  12-match winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Nemaha Central Thunder by a score of  2-1. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Thunder earlier this season, when they won  2-0.
 The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-27,  25-17.
 When it comes to explaining why Maranatha Christian Academy lost, don't look at  Macy Karlin. Despite the final result, she  had 18  digs and two  aces.
 Nemaha Central found their leader in sophomore  Kennedy Carlson, who  had six  digs and two  aces. Carlson is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's  now  posted 13 or more in each of the last three games she's  played.
Maranatha Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 36-5. As for Nemaha Central, their win bumped their record up to 20-18.
As of now, neither Maranatha Christian Academy nor the Thunder have any future games scheduled.
