Volleyball Recap: Dunnellon's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Dunnellon lost against Belleview back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Tigers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rattlers. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Rattlers 25-16 in the first set.

Dunnellon started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-15, 25-20, 25-14.

Yadiel Roman paced Dunnellon's offense, picking up eight kills. Roman were helped by Joshua Jimenez and Geremy Crouch, who contributed eight assists each. Finally, Brent Casey and Kelvin Jacobs kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked three attacks.

Dunnellon's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-8. As for Belleview, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Dunnellon beat the Rattlers by a score of 3-0 on Tuesday.
