The Oasis Sharks will head out to square off against the Gateway Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Oasis is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Tuesday just wasn't the day for Oasis' offense. They fell 4-0 to Cape Coral on Tuesday. The Sharks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kyra Cavender spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on nine hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Oasis saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaitlyn McGee, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Gateway waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Jaguars as they made off with a 20-4 victory. Considering the Eagles have won four games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Krizha Fredeluces, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Wutkowski, who scored three runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Gateway's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Oasis, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Oasis has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .474. However, it's not like Gateway struggles in that department as they've averaged .579. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Oasis took their victory against Gateway in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 17-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oasis since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
