Softball Recap: Citrus Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Citrus had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Nature Coast Tech Sharks on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Hurricanes, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Paisley Williamson was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Williamson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Baylie Goodwin, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Makayla Hetman was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

The victory got Citrus back to even at 7-7. As for Nature Coast Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Citrus will challenge Belleview at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Nature Coast Tech, they will be playing at home against Hudson at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
