Softball Recap: Nazareth Academy Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

With a playoff win on the line, Nazareth Academy rose to the challenge on Monday. They never let the Villa Joseph Marie Jems get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. Nazareth Academy was shut out 7-0 the last time they took on Villa Joseph Marie, so Nazareth Academy was just returning the favor.

Jill DiMario made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Keiragh Krzywicki was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Hailey Kober, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Nazareth Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Villa Joseph Marie, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.

Coming up, Nazareth Academy will face off against North Penn at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Villa Joseph Marie does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
