Football Recap: St. Ansgar Extends Winning Streak to Four

St. Ansgar put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 27-6 margin over the Newman Catholic Knights. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Saints' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 56th, while the Knights are ranked 212th).

St. Ansgar's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Newman Catholic, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, St. Ansgar will challenge Nashua-Plainfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Saints 7.8, the Huskies 3.2) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Newman Catholic, they will welcome West Fork at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
