Basketball Game Preview: Normal Community Ironmen vs. Danville Vikings

The Normal Community Ironmen will head out to face off against the Danville Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Normal Community will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Normal Community is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took down Mahomet-Seymour 74-58 on Tuesday. Given the Ironmen's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 234th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Danville came up short against Peoria on Monday and fell 50-40. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Danville's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Normal Community, they pushed their record up to 20-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Normal Community took their victory against Danville when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 73-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Normal Community since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
