Preview: D.H. Conley Vikings vs. Ayden - Grifton Chargers
The D.H. Conley Vikings's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Ayden - Grifton Chargers at 4:30 p.m. on December 26th.
D.H. Conley managed to keep up with Washington until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. D.H. Conley's rough 72-47 defeat to Washington might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, D.H. Conley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 395th, while Washington is ranked 137th).
Ayden - Grifton has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 22 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 79-36 win over Spring Creek at home.
Ayden - Grifton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cam Honey out in front who scored 20 points. The contest was Honey's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Josiha Crandell, who scored 17 points.
D.H. Conley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Ayden - Grifton, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Everything went D.H. Conley's way against Ayden - Grifton when the teams last played back in December of 2019 as D.H. Conley made off with a 66-42 win. Does D.H. Conley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ayden - Grifton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
