MaxPreps Top 25 national high school football rankings

The Show Me State makes its debut in this week's Xcellent 25 National Football Rankings presented by the Army National Guard.

Blue Springs (Mo.), which boasts an 11-0 record, checks in at No. 25 this week, following a 40-0 playoff victory over Blue Springs South.

Led by running back Dalvin Warmack, Blue Springs has outscored opponents 427-107 on the season.

Jumping one spot in the rankings is Serra (Gardena, Calif.), which is No. 9 this week.



Serra, which features explosive two-way star Adoree' Jackson, followed up a 35-21 win over Chaminade (West Hills, Calif.) with a 56-10 road victory over St. Paul (Santa Fe Springs, Calif.).

The rankings will be more fluid in coming weeks, as playoff action intensifies around the country.

Idle.

2. (2) DeSoto (Texas), 10-0
Claude Mathis' squad dominated in a 54-14 win over Mansfield.

3. (3) Allen (Texas), 10-0
Allen moved one step closer to repeating as state champs with a 42-13 win over Plano.

4. (4) St. Joseph Regional (Montvale, N.J.), 8-0
Playing only its third public school of the season, St Joseph Regional dominated a well-coached Ramapo squad.



5. (5) St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.), 10-0
St. John Bosco pulled away from Servite to win 42-21.{PAGEBREAK}

6. (6) De La Salle (Concord, Calif.), 10-0
The Spartans moved to 10-0 with a 55-0 win over California.

7. (7) Central (Miami), 8-1
Facing a tough University squad, Central's defense powered a 28-3 victory.

8. (8) Northwestern (Rock Hill, S.C.), 11-0
Northwestern might have the most impressive offense in the country. It unleashed 66 points in a win over Rock Hill.

9. (10) Serra (Gardena, Calif.), 10-0
Serra continued to play at a very high level with a 56-10 win over St. Paul.

10. (9) Katy (Texas), 10-0
The stadium vote may have been defeated in Katy, but the town's Tigers were not.{PAGEBREAK}

11. (12) Mountain Pointe (Phoenix), 11-0
In playoff action, Mountain Pointe knocked off Boulder Creek 55-7.

12. (11) Bellevue (Wash.), 10-0
It seems as if Bellevue has not been tested since its matchup with Euless Trinity in 2012. The Wolverines defeated Ferndale 44-0.



13. (13) Hoover (Ala.), 11-0
Amazingly, Hoover's squad could be even better in 2014. It downed Huntsville 41-7 on Friday.

14. (14) Miramar (Fla.), 10-0
Idle.

15. (15) Manatee (Bradenton, Fla.), 10-0

16. (16) Folsom (Calif.), 10-0
Jake Browning set the state regular season record for touchdown passes in Folsom's 63-39 win over Pleasant Grove.

17. (17) Byrnes (Duncan, S.C.), 10-1
Byrnes pulled away from Wade Hampton to win 47-21.

18. (18) Colerain (Cincinnati), 11-0
Colerain won again, this time downing Springboro 41-14.

19. (19) St. Edward (Lakewood, Ohio), 9-1
After a nail-biter against Eastern Christian Academy, St. Edward won more easily against Shaker Heights, 49-0.



20. (21) Mallard Creek (Charlotte, N.C.), 11-0
While Butler and Independence waged an epic battle across town, Mallard Creek cruised to a 55-7 win over North Mecklenberg.{PAGEBREAK}

21. (22) Jenks (Okla.), 10-0
Jenks overwhelmed North Putnam, winning 56-7.

22. (24) Carroll (Southlake, Texas), 9-1
Carroll looks like it will make a run at another state title. It impressed with a 65-7 win over Haltom.

23. (23) Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas), 9-2
The Gaels defeated Desert Oasis 69-7.

24. (25) Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati), 10-1
Against longtime rival St. Xavier, Moeller prevailed 42-17.

25. (NR) Blue Springs (Mo.), 11-0
Led by running back Dalvin Warmack, Blue Springs is the Class 6 state title favorite.
