Basketball Game Preview: Palmetto Mustangs vs. Belton-Honea Path Bears

The Palmetto Mustangs will face off against the Belton-Honea Path Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Back in December of 2024, Palmetto was able to grind out a solid victory over GREEN Upstate, taking the game 57-47. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Owls are ranked 228th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Belton-Honea Path was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost to Travelers Rest at home by a 72-58 margin.

Belton-Honea Path's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Palmetto, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Palmetto strolled past Belton-Honea Path when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a score of 70-55. Will Palmetto repeat their success, or does Belton-Honea Path have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
