Softball Recap: Worthington Christian Warriors vs. Springfield Spartans
Worthington Christian kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They suffered a tough 15-7 defeat at the hands of the Springfield Spartans.
For Springfield's part, Lilli Stokes spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.
At the plate, Springfield got a big performance out of Kendall Crytzer, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Destiny Ruggiero was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Springfield made their fans wait, but they earned their first win of the season to make their record 1-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Worthington Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bexley at 5:15 p.m. on April 12th. As for Springfield, they will head out on the road to take on Morgantown at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday.
