Softball Game Preview: Anchor Bay Tars vs. Armada Tigers

The Anchor Bay Tars will venture away from home to face off against the Armada Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Anchor Bay came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Fenton, falling 11-5. The Tars' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Armada). Everything went their way against Algonac on Tuesday as they made off with a 16-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Armada is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Anchor Bay, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

Anchor Bay took their win against Armada in their previous meeting back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 9-1 score. Do the Tars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
