Baseball Recap: Highland Tech Takes a Loss

If Highland Tech was feeling good fresh off their 11-4 takedown of Ashbrook last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Highland Tech fell just short of the Kings Mountain Mountaineers by a score of 4-2 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Rams have suffered since April 4, 2024.

Highland Tech saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Coleman Schafer, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Highland Tech's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Kings Mountain, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Highland Tech will venture away from home to challenge Cherryville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kings Mountain, they will take on North Gaston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Gaston's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Kings Mountain's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
