Baseball Game Preview: Clinton Arrows vs. Brookhaven Panthers

Clinton has gone a perfect 3-0 against Brookhaven recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Arrows will be playing at home against the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Clinton's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Newton County with a sharp 13-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Arrows, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Parker Burrow looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ethan Dodson, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Stone Crain, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI.

Clinton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Brookhaven entered their tilt with Natchez on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Bulldogs 13-0.

Clinton has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Brookhaven, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.

Clinton took their win against Brookhaven in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 12-4 score. Will the Arrows repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
