Basketball Game Preview: Orland Trojans vs. Red Bluff Spartans

The Orland Trojans will square off against the Red Bluff Spartans at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Orland is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.8 points per game this season.

Orland saw some tournament action last Saturday. They walked away with a 51-43 win over Fortuna. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Orland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dominick Bose, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Jayden Thompson, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.

Orland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in ten consecutive matchups.

While Red Bluff didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against West Valley by a score of 47-36 on Monday.

Orland is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Red Bluff, their record now sits at 7-5.

Everything came up roses for Orland against Red Bluff when the teams last played back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 62-31 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Orland since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
