Basketball Game Preview: Prentice Buccaneers vs. Marathon Red Raiders

Prentice is 1-7 against Marathon since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Prentice Buccaneers will look to defend their home court against the Marathon Red Raiders at 7:15 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Prentice sitting on four straight wins and Marathon on six.

Prentice will head into Monday's contest hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 42) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Rib Lake 44-41. The 44-point effort marked the Buccaneers' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marathon). They rang in the new year with a 75-62 win over Colby on Monday.

Marathon's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Prentice, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
