Softball Recap: Bloomington North Cougars vs. Bloomfield Cardinals
Bloomington North extended their losing streak to 11 on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 4-13 in the process. They fell 11-6 to the Bloomfield Cardinals. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 6-2 to the Cardinals when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kendyl Feutz was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Grayson Gill made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Kendon Galligher was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
As for Bloomfield, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-8. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games.
On Bloomfield's side, they got a big performance out of Addison Lafree, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Lafree has posted over her last 11 matches. Another player making a difference was Zylah Hendricks, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Looking ahead, Bloomington North will be playing in front of their home fans against Owen Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bloomfield, they will head out on the road to challenge Clay City at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
