Basketball Recap: Moriah Finds Playoff Glory Versus Lake Placid

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Moriah had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lake Placid Bombers 80-30. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 21 points or more this season.

Cooper Allen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 26 points and 13 rebounds. The game was his 27th in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Whitman, who posted 12 points and six boards.

Moriah smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 12 consecutive contests.

Moriah has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Lake Placid's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-18.

Looking ahead, Moriah will take on Ticonderoga at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Moriah knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 20 games -- so hopefully Ticonderoga likes a good challenge. Lake Placid does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
