Basketball Game Preview: Mountain View Toros vs. Liberty Lions

The Mountain View Toros are taking a road trip to square off against the Liberty Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mountain View will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Mountain View is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Chandler, sneaking past 42-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Toros have posted since January 3rd.

Meanwhile, Liberty came up short against Williams Field on Wednesday and fell 61-49.

Mountain View will need to focus on slowing down Mark Duguid, one of several Liberty players who made an impact when they last played. He en route to 11 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Topolosek, who posted ten points.

Even though they lost, Liberty smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matchups.

Mountain View's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-11. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points over those games. As for Liberty, their loss dropped their record down to 16-10.

Mountain View came up short against Liberty in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 67-58. Can Mountain View avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
