Volleyball Recap: Sierra Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Sierra won the last time they faced Minarets and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Chieftains put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 3-0 win. The Chieftains not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 11th (when they won 3-0).

While Sierra might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Minarets scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-18, 25-23.

Sierra's offense was headlined by Addison Tillman and Betty Burley, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Brooke Gibson and her ten assists. Mia Bautista controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Sierra's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 25-11. As for Minarets, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-14-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Sierra will square off against rival Chowchilla at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Minarets is set to take on their familiar foe Yosemite at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
