Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Oakmont

While Oakmont's win against Mira Loma wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings had just enough and edged out the Matadors 3-2 on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Oakmont was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 27-29, 23-25, 25-21, 15-9.

Troy Maxsom paced Oakmont's offense, picking up 21 kills. Maxsom got some help from Adam Wegsteen and his 38 assists. Miguel Orozco controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Oakmont now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Mira Loma, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Looking ahead, Oakmont will head out on the road to face off against Center at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a four-game losing streak. After both having extra time off, Mira Loma and Del Campo will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on the 17th.
