            Baseball Recap: Salesian College Preparatory Pride vs. Saint Mary's Panthers        
        
		
        
        
            Salesian College Preparatory had lost 11 straight on the road, but  on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 2-18 to make it 12. They fell just short of the Saint Mary's Panthers by a score of  6-5. If the Pride were looking for revenge after losing  12-1 to the Panthers when the teams met back in April of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.
 Salesian College Preparatory saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Evan Vela, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  home run and three  RBI. That  home run marked the first that  Vela has  launched this season.
As for Saint Mary's,  with the  victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-16. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
 On Saint Mary's side,  Brandon Sanchez was  excellent,  going 1-for-3 with three  RBI and one  double. That's the most  RBI  Sanchez has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Damien Nolan, who  went 1-for-3 with two  runs and one  RBI.
While Salesian College Preparatory had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday.
