Basketball Recap: Garey Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Garey had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They took their game with ease, bagging a 74-35 victory over the Nuview Bridge Knights. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-19.

Garey was led to victory by Keivon Chatman and Miguel Flores. Chatman almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine steals, while Flores shot 80% from the field to rack up 21 points and six steals. Another player making a difference was Esteban Ruvalcaba, who posted 15 points and five steals.

Nuview Bridge's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Garey will take on Glendale in a tournament on Monday. As for Nuview Bridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Rubidoux at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
