Basketball Recap: Caylee Wilkes and Aly Gassman Secure Win for Girard

There's no place like home for Girard, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against the South Range Raiders by a score of 42-33 on Saturday. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Leading Girard to victory were Aly Gassman and Caylee Wilkes. Gassman posted 11 points, while Wilkes earned nine points and seven rebounds. That's the most boards Wilkes has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gianna Schubert, who put up six points.

The victory got Girard back to even at 9-9. As for South Range, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

Girard wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 59-56 win against Lakeview on the 3rd. As for South Range, they have also already played their next contest, a 35-28 defeat against Poland Seminary on the 3rd.
