Basketball Recap: Joss Baker Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat East

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Olympus's strategy against East on Tuesday. The Olympus Titans blew past the East Leopards 53-28. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 23 points or more this season.

Olympus' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joss Baker, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 16 rebounds. Baker has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 26 times she's played. Tessa Cromar was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Several Leopards players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nora Amidbakarr, who posted four points in addition to 12 rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Taya Taylor, who earned eight points and six boards.

Olympus has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for East, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 13 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

Looking ahead, Olympus will head out to challenge Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for East, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Brighton at 7:00 p.m. Brighton will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something East surely won't give up without a fight.
