Baseball Recap: Winona Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Winona took on Yazoo County on Tuesday. The Tigers lost 9-3 to the Panthers. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Winona saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kentrell Crawford, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Winona's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Yazoo County, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winona will venture away from home to take on Edwards at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Yazoo County, they will head out to face off against Humphreys County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cowboys will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
