Softball Game Preview: Dearborn Pioneers vs. Anderson Titans

The Dearborn Pioneers are taking a road trip to take on the Anderson Titans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Anderson took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Dearborn, who comes in off a win.

Dearborn will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Redford Union on Tuesday. The Pioneers put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 19-4 win. That looming 19-4 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Pioneers yet this season.

Dearborn got a massive performance out of Niveen Sleiman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most RBI Sleiman has posted since back in May of 2024. Madison Shoff was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Dearborn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .778. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Anderson came up short against Trenton on Tuesday, falling 7-1. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dearborn moved to 8-20-2 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Anderson, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-13.

Dearborn suffered a grim 14-4 defeat to Anderson in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Pioneers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
