Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Cohen Jimeno and Gavin Herrera Lead Etiwanda to Victory

Etiwanda hadn't done well against Chino Hills recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Eagles walked away with a 3-1 win over the Huskies. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Huskies back in March, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

While Etiwanda might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Chino Hills scored at least 22 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-22, 19-25, 27-25.

Etiwanda was led to victory by Gavin Herrera and Cohen Jimeno. Herrera had 12 digs and three assists, while Jimeno had 14 kills, 12 digs, and four aces. Jimeno is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had seven or more in each of the last 18 games he's played dating back to last season.

Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sean Spicer, who had 20 kills, nine digs, and one block. Tyler Way was another key player, getting five digs and one block.

Etiwanda's record now sits at 9-13. As for Chino Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.

Etiwanda has already played their next contest (against Rancho Cucamonga), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Chino Hills also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Upland.
