Basketball Game Preview: Whittemore-Prescott Cardinals vs. Au Gres-Sims Wolverines

Whittemore-Prescott and Au Gres-Sims are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Whittemore-Prescott Cardinals will head out to square off against the Au Gres-Sims Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with 11 losses in a row dating back to last season, Whittemore-Prescott turned things around against Atlanta on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the Huskies out 30-27.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Au Gres-Sims, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They blew past Fairview, posting a 62-9 win.

Au Gres-Sims' win came from a few key players Whittemore-Prescott will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Analeis Ming, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Lillie Maser, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards.

Whittemore-Prescott's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-1. As for Au Gres-Sims, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Whittemore-Prescott suffered a grim 43-19 defeat to Au Gres-Sims in their previous meeting back in February. Can Whittemore-Prescott avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
