Volleyball Recap: Xavi Valera Key Part of Team Effort in Bulldogs Win

Notre Dame won the last time they faced Scott City and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Rams. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

While Notre Dame won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-22, 25-17.

Notre Dame got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Xavi Valera out in front who had 16 digs. Those 16 digs gave Valera a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlie Shamoun, who had 13 digs.

Notre Dame picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 4-5-1. As for Scott City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Notre Dame has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Poplar Bluff on the 12th. As for Scott City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against New Haven on the 12th.
