Baseball Game Preview: Mountain House Mustangs vs. Sierra Timberwolves

For the second straight game, Mountain House will face off against Sierra. The Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Timberwolves at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mountain House's hitters haven't had much luck over their past five matchups, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Having struggled with 18 defeats in a row, Mountain House turned things around against Sierra on Monday. They never let the Timberwolves get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted since February 26th.

The result came thanks to Tommy Neri's shutout, as he gave up just six hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Mountain House is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-17-1 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Mountain House secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Callahan Healy, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Healy has posted since back in February.

Sierra is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-16. As for Mountain House, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-13 and their overall record up to 5-18-1.
