Out-of-Door Academy waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Universal Academy Falcons as they made off with a 3-0 win. While the Thunder didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-8), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-9, 25-14.

Alex Beasley paced Out-of-Door Academy's offense, picking up 15 kills. Beasley got some help from Scarlett Vella and her 37 assists. Vella also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Madeleine Conger, racking up two apiece.

Out-of-Door Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Universal Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Out-of-Door Academy has already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Saint Stephen's Episcopal on the 9th. As for Universal Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Riverview Academy on the 8th.
