Soccer Game Preview: Aquinas vs. Linfield Christian

Aquinas hasn't had much luck against Linfield Christian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Aquinas Falcons will square off against the Linfield Christian Lions at 6:00 p.m. Aquinas' last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Friday, Aquinas didn't have quite enough to beat Woodcrest Christian and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1113th, while the Royals are ranked 461st).

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Linfield Christian made sure to put some goals up on the board against Arrowhead Christian on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 5-1 margin over the Eagles. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Lions' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Aquinas' loss dropped their record down to 1-14-2. As for Linfield Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-7-4 record this season.

Aquinas might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Linfield Christian in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can Aquinas avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
