Northwest Rankin extends road losing streak to seven

Recap: Northwest Rankin Cougars vs. Brandon Bulldogs

The Northwest Rankin Cougars lost against the Brandon Bulldogs on January 5th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Northwest Rankin fell to Brandon 47-41. Northwest Rankin has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brandon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braylon Barnes, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Barnes has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate White, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.

Northwest Rankin's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Brandon, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwest Rankin will take on Pearl at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pearl has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 325 points over their last five matches. As for Brandon, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Oak Grove at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Oak Grove will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while Brandon is ranked 44th).
