Softball Recap: West Fork's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

West Fork came into Tuesday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Pasadena Eagles a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Gators considering their two-run performance the match before.

The result came thanks to Ryelee Carmona's shutout, as she gave up just five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Arianna Lavane, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Jianna Naranjo, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

West Fork hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 5-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

West Fork's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 7-10. As for Pasadena, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

West Fork and Pasadena could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. West Fork will face off against Crosby at 6:30 p.m. on Friday down 461 places (519 vs. 58). Meanwhile, Pasadena (ranked 846th) will meet Dayton (ranked 196th) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
