Football Recap: Johnson City Takes a Loss

If Johnson City was riding high fresh off their 41-18 takedown of Thrall two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles came up short against the San Saba Armadillos on Friday, falling 47-21. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Even if they lost, Johnson City's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Luke Lorenzen, Tripp Crownover, and Aison Aguirre, who each picked up one sack apiece. Lorenzen was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 12 total tackles.

Luke Tharp produced another solid performance rushing for 163 yards and three TDs for San Saba. Tharp's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 104 rushing yards.

Johnson City's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for San Saba, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2.
