New Haven was sadly handed a loss on Friday, but Lamar Pearson did his best to prevent it. Nobody could stop Pearson as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Coming up, Pearson and New Haven will be playing at home against Hazel Park at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Rockets got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Vikings thanks in part to Pearson: he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk).
