Football Recap: Phisher Baxter Leads Andrews' Defense on Friday

It's playoff time, and Andrews had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 42-34 victory over the College Prep & Leadership Academy Royals on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Brady McLelland was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 68 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries, and also threw for 100 yards and two touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. Those 100 passing yards gave him a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Andrews was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 323 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Andrews didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Phisher Baxter, AJ Johnson, and Kelby Waldroup picked up one apiece. Waldroup also rushed for 255 rushing yards, which is notable because Andrews is 2-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 0-8 otherwise.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-9. As for College Prep & Leadership Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

As of now, neither Andrews nor the Royals have any future games scheduled.
