Football Recap: Sneads Takes a Loss

Sneads might've scored the first points on Friday, but it was Liberty County who claimed the real prize. The Pirates and the Bulldogs were almost perfectly matched up, but the Pirates suffered a 21-20 loss. The Pirates were up 14-0 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Even if they lost, Sneads' defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Omari Hill was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with eight.

Liberty County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Wylder Harr led the charge by throwing for 94 yards and two TDs, while also rushing for 50 yards. Those 50 rushing yards gave Harr a new career-high. Another back making a difference was Dylan Marlow, who rushed for 77 yards and one score.

Sneads' defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Liberty County, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-2.

Sneads wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 58-6 loss against Blountstown on the 3rd. As for Liberty County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 42-0 victory against Wewahitchka on the 3rd.
